Author: Dr Younai
Many people suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome but simply have no idea what that means besides the spreading pain that occasionally shots up the arm and elbow. Carpal tunnel syndrome is when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand become pinched or pressed at the wrist. The median never controls sensations to the palm side of the thumb, fingers excluding the pinky finger and impulses to some small muscles in the hand that allow the fingers and thumb to move. The most common and widely known entrapment neuropathies is Carpal tunnel syndrome Los Angeles surgeons tell that the carpal tunes is the passageway of ligaments and bones at the base of bottom of the hand. Swelling from irritated tendons narrows the tunnel and causes the median nerve to be compressed. The result is pain, weakness or numbness in the hand, and wrist shooting up the arm. This pain des indicate carpal tunnel however it can be other conditions one will be tested for carpal tunnel.
Symptoms
Carpal tunnel syndromes begin slowly and become more frequent over time. They usually begin with burning, tingling, itching or numbness of the palm, hand and fingers mostly the thumb the index and middle finger. Some carpal tunnel sufferers experience what they feel as swollen useless fingers although there may be little or no swelling at the fingers. Often symptoms appear in both hands at night, since some people sleep with flexed wrist. People with carpal tunnel often wake up with the need to shake out the hands and wrist. As symptoms worse the tingling follows through to day time. Decrease strength when griping or difficulty to form a grip, grasp small objects or perform other manual task. When carpal tunnel goes untreated the thumb may waste away and sufferers may no longer be able to identify hot and cold with their hands. There are many treatments and therapies that are used for carpal tunnel pain relief but if all fail a hand surgeon Los Angeles may perform surgery to relieve pressure off the median never which should stop the pain.
Surgery for carpal tunnel is generally suggested to patients who experience carpal tunnel pain for six months. During the surgery the band around the wrist is severed, which reduces pressure on the median nerve. Carpal tunnel hand surgery Los Angles doctors say is the most common surgical procedure in the United States. Many carpal tunnel patients require surgery on both hands this procedure is safe and performed by hand surgeon who performs all hand and Finger surgery Los Angeles. Women are three times more likely than men to develop carpal tunnel syndrome, so if one feels even slight symptoms of carpal tunnel it is important to see a doctor to identify the source of the problem. If the culprit is carpal tunnel it is critical to begin treatment rapidly so that less drastic measures can be taken.
That Sounds Alot Like Arthritis To Me…. My Mother In Law Was having Alot of the Same Problems and She Found Out that She Had Arthritis. She Was Using Osteo Bi-Flex (which you Can get at Local Drug Store like Walgreen’s, Walmart and Kroger) for Awhile But All it Was Doing was Taking the Edge off the Pain and Made Her Joints A Little Bit Better so She Saw a Doctor and They Prescribed Her Some Prescriptions for the Pain and a Prescription to Make Her Joints Move Better.
Unfortunately there is No Way To Cure Arthritis but there are Alot of Pain Medicine and Joint Medicine that you can Either Get Over the Counter or form your Doctor.
I Would Suggest Going to See a Doctor So that you can find out if that is what you have and if so They Can Tell you how Serious it is and what You should Take For It.
I am going to Give You a Few Websites You Can Go to to Read up on Arthritis and What Helps.

What are the best home remedies for joint pains?
I diverted a falling coconut from a palm tree from hitting my head with the palm of my right hand. I just guided it away to avoid a head fracture. But then I’ve been feeling pain in my elbow and sensitivity in my arm. I’ve been told it was an overstretched tendon by the overflexing of the palm.
The other one is my left knee. I’m overweight and after several months of walking and losing 10 pounds I decided to start running sections of my 1 mile walk. Yesterday I started to feel pain on my left knee…Is this part of no pain no gain deal? Anyway any home remedy recommendation is good. Thanks.

What causes severe joint pain?
What would be the cause of extreme hand pain in a teenage male who has had a history of sore, aching and painful joints?
The pain was enough to redden the person’s face.
And what can help ease the pain? Would hot compresses etc help? If so what other remedies like these can be suggested?
Thank you.
Thanks, but there is no damage to the bone.
No fractures, no breaks, nothing.
Just severe joint pain over a prolonged period of time with definite “peaks”, this being one.
The person also has knee pain in both knees which has been described as severe as well.
Your diet and your weight are your biggest enemies at the moment. Look at your diet and see how much acid is in your diet. Cut out alcohol for a time too because that’s one big cause of joint pains. Fruit and veg are good but be careful of which ones to eat, for example tomato’s will only give you trouble. As for your knee, it sounds like you have aggravated an old injury by running. But go to the doctor anyway because the GP will advise you best. Sometimes running isn’t good for you especially if you are very heavy. You still need to exercise but try bicycle or swimming. Do not be embarrassed to give them a try as your health is more important than your pride.

If there was trauma to the area, it could be a broken bone. If it’s warm to the touch, don’t put heat on it you could damage it more. Try putting cold on it for 20 min on and 1 hour off cycles. If after a few days, it doesn’t get better youneed to see a doctor.
How to alleviate Wrist/elbow/hand pain from using a mac laptop?
I’ve been getting some serious joint pain in my arms (i’ll attribute it to being HEAVILY dependent upon my mac).
I’ve never had this problem with other PC’s or my old laptop, so I think it may be the construction of the mac tat puts my hands in a strange position.
Anyone have this problem and have remedies to fix the issue?
I was thinking wrist pads to stick on here but I don’t know if I need a mac specific one given the shape….
Thanks!
