Rheumatoid Arthritis- Stiffness And Loss of Function
Author: Mark Richard
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disease that causes your own body's immune system to attack the tissue lining of the joints. An inflammatory disease of the joints that sometimes can disable the patient. This can lead to inflammation of the joints, muscles, affecting the surrounding world. As the result of inflammation, this causes pain, swelling, stiffness and loss of function in various joints of the body.
In rheumatoid arthritis, treatment, doctors generally prefer to use drugs. However, you have to face the potential side effects, especially if they depend too much to the relief of pain. You can consider natural treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. She almost does not cause side effects. You can use several methods to deal with pain more effectively.
A nutrient diet can help you manage the painful condition of arthritis. However, some foods can worsen the arthritic condition. For example, eating a lot of red meat may promote the development of rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritic many victims can not afford gluten, gliadin, and dairy goods. Medical documents show that a fast two weeks with vegetable broth can help reduce the signs of arthritis. Medical documents showing that the diet is abundant in cold-water fish can reduce inflammation. So take in large amounts of fruits and vegetables, and foods that are low in arachidonic acid (animal fat) for pain relief.
Herbs can help reduce the painful condition due to rheumatoid arthritis. Despite the fact that the herbs as food, have demonstrated its effectiveness as an aid in treating rheumatoid arthritis. Valerian is a botanical medicinal plant that has a strong possibility that they may heal muscle and joint pain. Ginger, curcumin, and boswellia are often used as natural treatments for rheumatoid arthritis. In Ayurveda, its use is essential to reduce inflammation. If you decide to use botanical supplements, always at the request of lawyers from your doctor.
Dietary supplements such as fish oil can naturally treat rheumatoid arthritis. Fish oil has high amounts of two omega-3: EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These omega fatty acids may produce compounds that reduce the inflammatory condition. However, they can slow the progression of the disease.
Glucosamine is a kind of amino sugar, the fluid that surrounds the joints. Doctors believe it may help in the development and repair cartilage. Cartilage is an elastic tissue, but strong clothes that the ends of bones. This will not allow the bones to rub against each other, and absorbs the impact force… Chondroitin sulfate is a compound found in cartilage around the joints. It is part of a larger protein molecule (proteoglycan). It is responsible for the elasticity of cartilage. Glucosamine encourage and stimulate the development and reconstruction of the articular cartilage, while chondroitin sulfate prevents other body enzymes to slow the building blocks of joint cartilage.
Despite the fact that you can opt for natural treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, they should complement and not replace conventional care. Rheumatoid arthritis is not easy to treat. Even if you opt for natural methods, you should maintain regular visits to a rheumatologist to attend to serious complications.
Regarding ” R.A.” (rheumatoid arthritis); BOOK -good to read: read on please..?
There is good, helpful information in a book that i’ve had several years; i purchased thru a Mail-Order Book Club: Title: FAMILY MEDICAL GUIDE – third edition ; ( The American Medical Association); RANDOM HOUSE. / I’m 99 per cent sure it was THIS book that states : ” It is not UNCOMMON for a person to develop Rheumatoid Arthritis after (or soon after ? ) a loss of a Loved One. /// I’ve not read this book nearly as often lately since I now look up lots of info on the Internet. Any comments? (I’m sorry -some of the first few pgs are missing from my much used book-so i’m not sure OF YEAR printed. about 10 or less yrs. ago – i think, as i purchased it bout 7 yrs. ago.–also, due to fact that I cannot see well right now (i can’t locate the info -that i just referred to–(broken eye glasses & using reading glasses ONLY RIGHT NOW).
Hi Lady! Did I ever suggest to you that you contact Oprah? Make sure you have a video camera and document the event…all events. Keep a running diary. Get sound bites. Send press releases out to every TV, Radio and Print outlet within a 100 mile radius. Make posters and put them on every bulletin board you can. Don’t forget, I already volunteered my studio to you! Best of luck as always.
How should I feel? Apologize for lengthiness of question in advance but PLEASE HELP!!!?
Well, how should I?
LOL ok…for a little background information…
I’m in University right now, doing pretty well, getting Honours and scholarships which led to this fantastic internship for Finance at a Wall Street firm. I’m 20 years old. The problem is that…my dad and his best friend keep telling me that I’ve been lucky my whole life – just because we tend to be somewhat wealthier than the rest of the population. And we’re not really “wealthy” – we’re just “well off”, although I know that most people out there aren’t even close to well off, especially with recent events!
They always tell me how lucky I am because I don’t have to take out any bank loans or because I don’t have to work and study at the same time. He even said that I am lucky because he chose my major for me (which I hate, I had other plans). Mind you, I’ve been through my own share of ordeals which haunt me even today (for example, the divorce of my parents, leading to my own mother abandoning me at the age of 12, constantly fearing for my dad’s health at his old age – 70 years old with rheumatoid arthritis, not having any extended family to socialize with, etc).
I’ve always felt that I’ve worked pretty hard for what I’ve achieved. And, I’ve been through my ups and downs in life on a regular basis. Even if I don’t have to work to earn money or take bank loans, I still feel that I’m more grounded to my studies and more goal-oriented than the average student. Even on the first day of school…you’ll see me in the library studying, while all of my friends (who have jobs or loans) are socializing in the cafeteria. Yet, my dad always tells me that I’m lucky even when it comes to my grades and all – as if everyone else is so serious about their future, whether working or not, and as if everything has been handed to me on a plate.
He often takes the credit, stating that, “you know, if it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have been doing so well.” As if he’s doing my homework for me on a regular basis! He’s done a lot, I will avow that, but…I’m the one staying up until 4 AM every other night studying!
Sometimes I feel that it is his subconscious talking. The fact that he got divorced from his wife is a reflection on him. If I tell people about all of the bad things that I have had to endure, it is a reflection on my parents, in a sense. So, perhaps my dad is just trying to avoid a bad name.
I don’t know how to feel about this. Sometimes I question my own self-worth in these situations. Sure, we have money, but we’re missing out on a lot of other things. In fact, I’d rather be working and taking out bank loans if that would give me the chance to have my family back together. What do you think? It’s been really bothering me lately to the point that oftentimes I feel as if I am nothing on my own. Thanks for listening…
Thanks Alice for making me feel wonderful. You have basically said everything that my dad has ever told me except for the first few and last few lines. GREAT. I think I made it pretty clear that I know that I am financially well-off. I guess this justifies my dad picking my major for me which I hate.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have even posted this question. I was just looking on opinion about how I should feel about my success, and if it is actually my success at all! I was trying to be as euphemistic as possible while still conveying the fact that my life has ups and downs just like everyone else’s. If I told you what I’ve really been through, you would cringe. Having lived through years of domestic abuse, I’m lucky that my brain hasn’t been smashed to pieces, to be honest. Yeah, I’m lucky, all right.
in this case the age of the book may be the answer, lots of these medical things are updating every few months not only every few years. I would feel free to let you talk to your local pheumatologist for management, no matter what caused it, treatment, soon and appropriate is still more important, good luck

Do you think this should be required information for all families?
For those of you that have jumped on the negative bandwagon, all of this information has been well documented in medical journals. I did both with my twins, breast and bottle.
On alcohol they have warnings because it is a dangerous substance, so is formula. It is undeniable that it kills 1.5 million children per year. WIC in many states is having people sign an informed consent with this information. I am just seeing what others think.
If you don’t agree with facts you don’t have to be rude.

Ok, it is not right for your dad to demean your accomplishments.
Yet, you are lucky.
One of my relative, her mother and father never went to middle school. They were farmers that had to work on the field. They dreamed to come to America.
They came. They had 5 kids, in a small apartment. Living off of welfare. The Eldest, had to work a job to support the family and go to school. She became valedictorian of her school VP of student council and everyone knew here.
She got accepted into Stanford, with a FULL RIDE scholarship. She was pre-med and just graduated Stanford as Phi Beta Kapa (she had a 3.8 GPA)
Now she just got accepted into medical school.
Money does so much. You are LUCKY. trust me. There are a ton of people worse off. You’re stressing because you don’t have relatives to talk with? All of my relatives are half way across the world from me. I would do anything to get a top-notch education like you.
He isn’t just talking about bank loans and jobs. He is talking about how A LOT of people can’t go to school because their family needs them to go to work to bring bread to the table. I hope you realize that. People aren’t all born with the same opportunities. You’re lucky that you’re “well off”
You’re not the only kid who is staying up till 4 studying.
But basically what you’re complaining about is how your dad is treating you. It is unfair. He shouldn’t be saying that to you. You make your own accomplishments, not your father.
I think informed consent for use of infant formula is a good idea. I don’t think the information you’ve posted in your question is defensible, however.
Important Medical Question for a Teen…Doctors or reliable sources only please?
Ok I am a 17, almost eighteen year old female. I’m having s medical problem, but I don’t want my parents to know, because they would either (1)take me to the doctor, and since they are already going to help me with college and we are not exactly rich, I don’t want to make them spend more money, or (2)not believe me, which would be devastating in itself. And I can’t visit any type of free clinic because my mom would know that I’m taking the car, and my sister comes everywhere with me.
Here is a synopsis of all the info you may need to tell me what is wrong:
~I have chest pain which makes my whole chest throb with a dull pain, but with sharp, needle-like pain right through the center.
~It makes my fingers and legs numb, and I feel like I can’t breathe without extreme pain;moving is really difficult
~These “attacks” have been happening sporadically since eighth or ninth grade, but have become more frequent lately
~The pain recedes slightly with pressure
~There doesn’t seem to be a trigger, because they’re just as likely to happen when I’m sitting on my couch as when I’m exercising
~I feel REALLY tired for a day or two afterwards
About me:
I’m really athletic, and am either dancing or running everyday. I have exercise induced asthma(so I know that the pain I’m experiencing isn’t that, plus it’s decreased over the years), extremely low blood pressure, and I used to have a deviated septum in my nose and enlarged tonsils and adenoids. I’m generally pretty laid back and unstressed. I eat as much of a balanced diet as any teenager does.(Actually, probably slightly better because I don’t drink pop or like sweet foods).
Family History:
My mom has Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I don’t think anything runs in her family but I can’t be sure because she’s adopted. Nothing runs in my dad’s side either, as far as I know.
Please respond if you can give me any ideas about what may be the problem! Feel free to email me at SpamAccount29@yahoo.com if you have any questions or additional info. I’ve already tried Web MD, but I couldnt give accurate enough symptoms or history for me to trust it.
I believe that information is the key to everything. With some help, I can decide where to go from here.
Oh! And finally, don’t just tell me to tell my parents. I’m old enough to make my own decisions, and I don’t want to inform them until have an idea what I’m dealing with.
Only seeing a Doctor can really help you,
Although, it sounds like Tachycardia(tack-a-cardia, aka your heart is beating too fast). Take your pulse now. If it’s higher than 90 bpm resting you should really have your heart seen to by an MD or Cardiologist. Heart problems should not be treated or diagnosed by Yahoo Answers. It’s just not safe. Try and lay off the caffeine altogether, It can trigger Tachycardia episodes.
Your parents would rather have you healthy than not have to pay for medical bills; But if you want to leave it alone and increase your risk for heart attack, then I guess there’s nothing I can do for you.
