Does anyone know a way to treat psoriasis?
I have psoriasis on my hands, knees, and feet. When any part of this is in the water for a long time, it turns white. I need a treatment for it. I hate it so much.

It sounds like your sister is still dealing with a lot of anger issues from her bad relationship. If he was physically AND mentally abusive, she may still feel like she has to be in survival mode.

Sometimes when women go through abusive situations, they come out blaming those they love for not saving them. She probably doesn't even know that's what she's doing.

Unfortunately, she's taking it out on the wrong people. She needs professional counseling to help her through her anger.

I know it doesn't seem that way now, but counseling may be the best way to get her out. It will take a little longer, but the counselor will help push her into learning how to be on her own.

If you don't want to take these steps, then call the police and have her removed. Mom can tell them that she came to visit and refused to leave. It's a really hard way to go, but it's effective.

Prescribed medication side effects for Rheumatoid arthritus Has anyone had any?
A few years ago I was prescribed methotrexate and Zalazapyrin for Rheumatoid arthritis and thought I was on a winner but. I started to have some major health problems, tired all the time couldn't think properly (like living in a fog), funny little seizures,( has been some minor permanent damage to some thought processes) dizzy could not co ordinate my thought processes and motor skills very well. I was sent for major tests xrays and no definitive answers maybe a mini stoke etc. Anyway the arthritis pain became unbearable and the medication wasn't working so I stopped taking it and guess what I am clear in the head no serious pain (just had blood tests and my rheumatoid factors are through the roof)pain is minimal. I have spoken to my chemist and he agreed the drugs had terrible side effects and when I spoke to my new specialist and told him why i had stopped the medication he said yea some people that can happen to blah blah blah. Has anyone been left with permanent damage.

Bone spurs are abnormal bone growths that develop in response to injury or inflammation. The growths might be generalized bone enlargement, small bumps, or bony spikes. When they occur in nearly every joint, they are usually caused by rheumatoid arthritis. The spurs are not reversible, but they can be removed surgically if necessary. Treatment usually involves stopping the immune system from causing inflammation. Medications used to stop inflammation and halt bone spur growth are often only marginally effective, but the effectiveness varies from person to person. There are dozens of different drugs that are used, and most have side effects. You may have to work with your doctor to try different treatments and find one that best balances effectiveness with side effects. Lots more info at the link:

Starting an all natural, holistic pet treat company...need name help please!?
So the company I'm working on building is for all natural pet treats (not just dogs). I've been working on my own recipes for years including cat, dog, and horse treats. There will be your basic flavored treats, but also treats more specified for conditions such arthritis support, digestive upsets, etc through use of herbal remedies specified for the species. I'm having a hard time deciding on the name. So far I've considered the following: Healthum Pet Treats, Back To Nature Treats, Angelic Paws Pet Treats, Bully Dog Bakery (I love but it's not just for dogs so would it work?), and maybe something with Herbal in the name? Do any of those work for you? Would Bully Dog Bakery (with something stating it's pet treats instead of dog in the logo) work? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

home remedies for knee pain?
My husband is 49 years old and has been having terrible knee pain. He went to the ER last week and an x-ray was done. The x-ray showed his knee joint was bone on bone and was referred to an orthopedic. Does anyone know of any home remedies that might help until he can see an ortho?

I have had such a fantastic fix to my psoriasis problem that I've actually started searching the yahoo questions to tell others what I did. I'm not wanting to spam everyone to death so I'm only going to copy/paste to a couple of more people what I've shared in hopes it helps others. If others have tried my remedy and it works for them too please contact the company as I think the more people do the more people will try this and end the painful itchy creams we've ALL tried.

So here's what I've shared:

I have been dealing with psoriasis for over 10 years. Started on my elbows, and then went to my knees and on my legs. I've tried about every prescribed option out there cream wise. I even took steroids and it helped but didn't eliminate the problem. Then the strangest thing happened. I had dehydrated skin so I bought Vasiline Intensive Care Total Moisture lotion and started using it. IMMEDIATELY I saw results. Two months later and I can say I have knees and elbows! I hadn't seen them in years! I can wear tank tops and shorts again without looking like something's wrong with me. It's so hard to explain to others who don't have psoriasis what it's like and how much it affects my self esteem, having to wear jeans and long sleeved shirts in dead summer and dying from the heat, or wearing something comfortable and having people stare and ask questions. I actually cried more times than I'd like to admit. Now I feel different. It seemed with the other stuff that it would help keep it from expanding and growing, but wouldn't completely eliminate the growth already there. I can't believe a few dollars spent on over the counter lotion could do this for me since I'd spent hundreds of dollars over the years on stuff that burned and itched and hurt my fair skin. I'm not a huge testimonial writer, but I'm actually writing the company to say thank you, I feel like me again. I hope it helps, and good luck!

Oh, I did want to add that I use the lotion after my shower in the morning and once again before going to sleep. I don't have to slather myself all day long like I have with the eucerine *spelling?* cream that made it sore to the touch. I don't have to keep it wet all day for this stuff to work. I SO hope I'm not a fluke and this might really make a difference for others. Good luck with it!

RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis)?
My granmother experiences constant and horrible pain from what the doctors claime to be "RA", Rheumatiod Arthritis.

I've hear "humira", but what are the side effects? Aren't some of them bleeding, pretty bad? This seem like a high price 2 pay!

Anyone have any (preferrably natural) remedies that could help??

Also, what's the cause ?? we would like to know why she got it..

It's not Herreditary .. is it?

Genetic Background-Conditioned Results

We used a collection of 749 SNPs informative for European substructure to stratify both the cases and controls in Sample Set 2 [41]. By partitioning cases and controls into similar genetic background groups (“Northern European” or “Other”), our aim was to interrogate the data for strata-specific effects – that is, whether or not association signals were specific to one of these genetic background groups – and avoid potential confounding by population stratification. Although two SNPs demonstrated moderately higher significance levels following stratification – rs16910233 in C5 (PNorth = 0.019 compared to PUnstrat = 0.147) and rs12685539 in CEP110 (POther = 0.038 compared to PUnstrat = 0.115), a Breslow-Day test of effect heterogeneity comparing ORNorth and OROther was not significant. Furthermore, a positional plot of Mantel-Haenszel P-values, testing for association given the genetic background stratification, was very similar to the unadjusted plot (Figure S1) suggesting that stratification of the case and control samples by SNPs informative for European substructure did not change the association patterns in Sample Set 2.
